My Guiding Principles
1. I stand to the side. This is the first principle I learned during my time at the Celebrant Foundation & Institute where I was trained as a LifeCycle Celebrant. I stand to the side because I am a conduit in sharing your story. People are at your ceremony to see you, not me.

2. Stories transform and heal. Through story, we can build relationship and heal others by showing up as our truest, most authentic selves. When we share honestly, it gives everyone else permission to do the same. Courageous stories remind us who we truly are.

3. Richard Rohr wrote, "The best criticism of the bad is the practice of the better". Modelling a better way is the way we change things. I believe love must always guide the path forward.

4. We are inter-connected. I know that as humans, our most intimate relationships are affected by the greater community and our communities are made up of our most intimate relationships. We are inter-relational.
5. Love is an action. I take comfort in the stability of the noun but know deeply that love is a verb, it requires action...in all spaces and places.
